As a publicly funded scientist, I strongly believe it is my responsibility to translate my research into meaningful educational experiences for all ages. I have experience bringing my expertise into the classroom through public and student-facing lectures on microbial ecology, oceanography, data science, and polar research, as well as teaching undergraduate and graduate level coursework. My teaching philosophy focuses on the why’s behind my research, helping students practice curiosity and problem-solving as they learn fundamental scientific concepts.
